8" x 10"
oil, acrylic, resin, and pressed flowers on panel
Originally a part of my 2022 solo show "Stratosphere" at VAR Gallery, a show about the ephemeral nature of love and life, this piece was part of my "Burial" series.
Due to the resin yellowing, I have discounted this piece heavily. They were originally $500, however I have since learned that there is no way to prevent resin from yellowing, even if it is marketed as crystal clear. The best way to continue caring for this piece is to keep it out of direct sunlight and extreme heat as both can further the yellowing process.
Here's a poem I wrote and included as a part of the series:
when i die,
b u r y me
in a field of wildflowers
next to our love
so that the roots can caress
the crevices of my body
g e n t l y
until i bloom again
